We’re thankful for the 120 nationalities studying and working on the University of Stirling campus. Our campus is genuinely a better place for having our international students and staff, and today we’re embracing the multiculturalism and diversity – and wealth of culture – that our international students and staff bring to campus. Here’s what four international students had to say about life in Stirling.
Joy Jing Yap, Singapore
Singapore Institute of Management
I’m here for a semester as part of my degree. I’m really enjoying this experience, everyone is so friendly here and the campus is beautiful. I’ve made lots of friends and will be sad to leave!
Andrew Schuster, USA
University of Wyoming
It’s beautiful, and there’s so much to see. As a history student, there is history right on your doorstep. The campus is a cool community with lots of international people here. I’ve found it a huge learning experience, and I already feel like I’ve grown a lot.
Maria Clara Vial Birrell, Chile
Pontifica Universidad Catolica de Chile
I really wanted to experience different cultures, and I’ve always loved Scotland. Everyone here is very friendly and welcoming, so it was easy for me to adjust. I came here to improve my English, but this has been a true life experience.
Yukiko Sugiyama, Japan
Akita International University
I really like the variety of different subjects I can choose from. The teachers are friendly and supportive, and the lectures are very interactive. I have made friends from all over the world – my flatmates are from Scotland, USA, Spain and Norway!
