Although we are living in uncertain times, lockdowns and social distancing won’t last forever. When the time comes, you’ll still be able to get started on a brand-new adventure at university.

With more and more universities and colleges to choose from, attending an open day will give you a fantastic opportunity to find out about all aspects of university life. As it will be your home for the next three or four years, it’s important to make a well-informed decision about where and what to study.

Here at Stirling, we’re putting on a number of Virtual Undergraduate Open Days over the course of the next few months to help you get a feel for our courses, learn about student support services, find out about funding, take a virtual tour of campus and more. You can even live chat with current students about what it’s really like living and studying here! 

So, what exactly happens at Virtual Open Day? And more importantly, why is it so important that you attend?

1. Explore our campus

Wondering what it is like to be a student at Stirling? At our Virtual Open Days, you’ll be able to get a great feel for our beautiful 330-acre campus. Take a virtual tour, in which you’ll be shown around our five-star facilities (QS World University Rankings 2020) and our wide range of modern accommodation.

Our Accommodation Teams are also on hand to answer any questions you might have about our University-managed accommodation.

2. Learn more about the available courses

As part of Virtual Open Day, you’ll get the chance to watch in-depth presentations about the subjects you’re interested in studying. You can also chat directly to course directors and quiz them all about what to expect from the courses, modules and opportunities.

3. Learn what your next steps are

Just like at an on campus Open Day, you’ll be able to attend presentations about studying at Stirling, applying, funding your degree and scholarships, accommodation, to name a few. You’ll be able to watch the presentations from the comfort of your own home and listen to the important advice on these topics.

4. Chat to current students

You might be interested in Stirling because you’re attracted to one of our courses – but truth is, we’re about a whole lot more than essays and world-class degrees. Find out everything you need to know about student life at Stirling! There will be plenty of current students available to give you their perspective and offer honest answers to all the questions you’ve got about studying at Stirling.

5. Get answers to your questions

Finally, you’ll be able to chat directly with our admissions and accommodation teams, student support, and teaching staff. They will be available to answer any questions you may have about the support available to you as a student at Stirling, admissions and much more!

While attending an Open Day in person is generally a fun day out, our Virtual Open Days still provide you with a perfect overview of our University and our courses, and allows you to experience our University almost as if you were there. And did we mention that you don’t even have to get out of bed to attend? That’s our favourite part, too.
