The winter break period runs from Monday 23 December 2024 to Friday 3 January 2025 inclusive.  

Library and IT

Information Services will be keeping the library open over much of the festive period to support those students remaining near campus. 

Students will also be able to access Library and IT services out with Library opening hours using our out of hours service. This service is accessed via chat on the portal. 

Campus Eats

There will be some changes to the opening hours of catering outlets across campus during the festive season. Catering outlets are open as follows:

The Union

Our Students’ Union will be operating festive hours at Venue, Underground, the Union Shop and Union Offices. 

These hours are as follows: 

Students’ Union Atrium office

• Closed from 4pm on Friday 20 December
• Reopens Monday 6 January

Green & Blue Space

• Now closed
• Reopens Monday 20 January

Union Shop

• Closed from Tuesday 17 December 2024 at 5pm
• Reopens Wednesday 15 January 2025 at 11am

Note: Online Shop orders end at 5pm Thursday 12 December 2024 – any orders placed after this time will not be dispatched until return on Wednesday 15 January 2025. This includes period poverty items.

Sport

The University sport facilities will have revised opening hours over the festive period but there will be plenty of opportunities to keep on top of your physical and mental wellbeing during the holidays!

The festive opening hours are as follows: 

Campus pharmacy

The pharmacy will close from the end of Friday 20 December and will reopen on Monday 6 January. 

During this period, patients can visit the Bridge of Allan Right Medicine pharmacy, which is located at 37 Henderson Street.

Student Services Hub

The Student Services Hub will be open as usual until Monday 23 December.  

It will be open for live chat, email and telephone enquiries on Friday 27 December, 9am to 5pm.

Usual services and times will resume on Friday 3 January.

Student Learning Services

Student Learning Services will be closed from Tuesday 24 December to Thursday 2 January 2025.

There will be reduced availability for individual tutorials from Monday 16 December to Monday 20 January. There will also be no drop in tutorials from Monday 16 December to Monday 20 January.

Airthrey Park Medical Centre

Airthrey Park Medical Centre will be open as usual throughout the holiday period apart from:

• Wednesday 25 December – Thursday 26 December: Closed 
• Wednesday 1 January – Thursday 2 January: Closed

Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy will be closed from Friday 20 December until Monday 6 January.

Nisa

Nisa will be open throughout the festive period, with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

There will also be an early closing of 6pm on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay.
