Meet your sabbatical officers: Justine Pédussel

Vice President Communities for 24/25 Justine Pédussel

Get to know Justine Pédussel, your Students’ Union Vice President Communities for 2024/25,

Hi Justine. Can you tell us about your role at the Students’ Union?

As Vice President Communities, my main focus is on creating stronger communities for students. For me, that’s about building relationships between different societies to help students feel included and more connected.

Another big part of my role is speaking to students to let them know what the Students’ Union is and what we’re here for. I want to empower students so they know what their rights are.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Working with societies to create a more sustainable and inclusive campus for students.

We’ve had a few wins around sustainability and I’ve made booklets around tenant and employment rights, but there’s always more we can do.

I’m also looking forward to continuing to collaborate with societies to make our campus safer, inclusive and more sustainable.

Can you describe yourself in three words?

I would say friendly, resilient and problem solver.

How can students get in touch with you?

They can email the VP Communities email, which is communities.union@stir.ac.uk, or they can get in touch through Instagram @stir_communities.

If they are on campus, they can also walk into the Union office, which is just beside the supermarket in the atrium.

Thanks Justine! Now onto the quickfire round:

Cats or dogs? Dogs.

Music or movies? Oh, that’s a tough one. Probably music.

Summer or winter? I don’t like either really… I suppose if it’s Scottish weather then maybe summer? It’s not like a real summer, it’s more like spring.

Sweet or savoury food? Sweet.

Tea or coffee? Coffee.

Night out or night in? I used to be a night out kind of girl, but now I would say night in.

Android or iPhone? I have an iPhone, so iPhone.

Audio book or physical book? Physical book.

Texting or voice messaging? Probably texting.

Mondays off or Fridays off? Fridays off.

You can find out more about Justine and her role on the Students’ Union website.
