Let’s face it: 2020 has been a great example of how things can change overnight – and when Results Day rolls around in August, you might not end up getting the results you were hoping for. Our best is advice is not to panic. You may still be able to secure a place on another course through Clearing.
Clearing is part of the UCAS application process in which students without a place are matched with unis that still have course spaces available. It’s become a really popular way for students to secure a university place.

1 September 2020 | Adjustment ends

8 September 2020 | Applications open for 2021 entry
Unable to secure a place through Clearing for 2020 entry? There are plenty of options available to you, and one of those options will be to apply for a course starting in 2021.
If you’d like to apply for September 2021 entry, UCAS will begin accepting online applications from 8 September 2020.
20 October 2020 | Clearing closes
The train will pull out of the station on 20 October. This will be the absolute last day you can secure a place through Clearing for 2020 entry.
That being said, the vast majority of undergraduate courses start in September – and so you really shouldn’t leave Clearing until last minute. Not only will you miss out on great places, but you could miss the entire first month of your studies. It’s hard to come back from that.
If you can, get in touch with us in August after securing your results so that we can help you to find a place.
