Clearing is not just for school leavers who didn’t achieve the exam results they needed or changed their mind – at the University of Stirling we welcome applications through Clearing from all types of students. Mature students are classed by UCAS as anyone over the age of 21 who didn’t go to university after school or college.

Hear from Michael who came to the University of Stirling after being in the workplace for a few years. He shares his experience of using Clearing to apply to university.
You can apply from 5 July 2019
Clearing opens on 5 July 2019 so if you’re not waiting on any exam grades you can beat the rush and apply to Stirling. You’ll be able to chat to a member of our Clearing team to discuss your options. Here’s a few things you need to think about to help you get the most out of your call:
- Make sure you have a list of all the qualifications you already have and that you know where the certificates are.
- Think about all the different work experience you’ve had, paid and voluntary. It’s useful to have your CV to hand.
- Make a list of any questions you want to ask about things such as course options, funding and support.
