There’s no doubt we’ve got an amazing community here at UofStirling and we’re rightly proud of it, with almost 4,000 postgraduate students on campus representing nationalities from Scotland to South America and elsewhere across the globe. There are many reasons why postgraduates choose Stirling. So, curious to find out more, we asked two of our current students some of the main reasons why they decided to call UofStirling their home.
Say hello to Nicolas Guerra from Argentina who is here studying for his MSc in International Business and Danny Cockcroft who hails from England and is currently studying our very popular MSc Psychology of Sport course.
So, let’s dive in and find out what attracted Nicolas and Danny to UofStirling!
A Global View
“I was really keen to broaden my management expertise by taking it into a more international level. While researching programs I came across the MSc International Business offered by the University of Stirling. Compared to other universities, the program at Stirling seemed to be the most complete one.” – Nicolas
The Campus Factor
“I chose to study at Stirling after I visited the campus on a postgraduate Open Day. The campus environment was an instant factor influencing my decision, as entering this community just below the Highlands seemed perfect.”
Putting Theory into Practice
“Ultimately my decision was made when I was informed about the ‘Public Engagement’ module. The opportunity to practice my future career with the high calibre of university athletes seemed like the best and most interesting way to springboard into future consultancy.” – Danny
Support from the Word Go
“From the very beginning, the University of Stirling made clear that students’ development is their priority. Supportive academic and administrative staff, participative classes, practical workshops, state of the art infrastructure and a constant challenge to reach our potential are the reasons why I am convinced that my time at the University of Stirling has been an inflexion point in my professional development.” – Nicolas
“I was awarded a scholarship from the University to study my Masters degree. The scholarship was crucial to fulfilling my dream of leaving Argentina to study abroad.” – Nicolas
Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence
“The standards of the sporting facilities were important for me as I was pursuing an MSc Psychology of Sport. Stirling’s proved to be the best that I saw, and that was even before the redevelopment.” – Danny
Preparing for the World of Work
“Besides the academic reasons, Stirling’s statistics regarding alumni employability rates and satisfaction were outstanding. It is only now, after finishing my program, that I can fully comprehend how correct my decision was. UofStirling exceeded all expectations, and I will always be proud to say that I’m a graduate from Stirling.” – Nicolas
